2023 NASCAR Cup Talladega Race: Busch Triumphs, Blaney Steals Playoff Win
Kyle Busch Wins 62nd Cup Race at Talladega
NASCAR's "Magic Mile" lived up to its name as Kyle Busch captured his third victory in the 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. The race was overshadowed by multiple cautions, including one that ended the event under yellow.
Busch, driving the No. 8 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing, led a total of 59 laps and held off a hard-charging pack of cars on the final restart. Denny Hamlin, Ross Chastain, and Daniel Suarez filled out the top four positions.
Ryan Blaney Wins Playoff Race
In a separate event, Ryan Blaney held off challenges from Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell to win the YellaWood 500, the second race in the NASCAR Cup Playoff Round of 12.
The race was marred by weather delays, but once it resumed, Blaney led a total of 43 laps. Elliott stalked him throughout the end of the race, but couldn't make a move for the win. Bell finished third, followed by Kyle Larson and Joey Logano.
