**Ollie Watkins: Aston Villa's English International Striker**

**Humble Beginnings to the Premier League Spotlight**

**Oliver George Arthur Watkins was born on December 30th, 1995.**

Growing up in Newton Abbot, Devon, Oliver Watkins' journey to the top of English football began in the local youth systems of Torquay United and Exeter City. His talent quickly became apparent, earning him recognition from Exeter's first team at just 18 years old.

After a promising spell with Exeter, Watkins made the move to Brentford in 2017. In the Championship, he flourished, scoring a remarkable 33 goals in two seasons and attracting attention from some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League.

In the summer of 2020, Aston Villa signed Watkins for a club-record fee. In his first season, he immediately made an impact, scoring 14 goals and providing five assists to help Villa secure a comfortable mid-table finish.

Watkins' impressive performances have not gone unnoticed. In March 2021, he received his first call-up to the England national team for the World Cup Qualifiers. He made his international debut against San Marino and marked the occasion with a goal.

As the new Premier League season approaches, Ollie Watkins is poised to continue shining for club and country. His combination of pace, power, and clinical finishing make him a formidable attacking threat. Whether he can lead Aston Villa to a successful season and establish himself as a regular in the England squad remains to be seen. However, one thing is certain: Ollie Watkins is a rising star of English football, and his journey is far from over.
