A Moderately Strong 52 Magnitude Earthquake Struck In Southern California On Tuesday

A moderately strong 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck in Southern California on Tuesday.

The earthquake was felt over a wide area of Southern California, including Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties.

The quake occurred at 10:33 a.m. Pacific Time and was centered about 10 miles west of Lamont, a small town in Kern County. It had a depth of about 5 miles.

There were no immediate reports of major damage or injuries, but the earthquake did cause some power outages and minor damage to buildings.

The earthquake is the latest in a series of recent earthquakes in California and Nevada. Over the past few weeks, there have been several earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 3.0 to 5.2.

The increase in earthquake activity has raised concerns among some residents, but seismologists say there is no cause for alarm.

"This is not an unusual level of earthquake activity for California," said Lucy Jones, a seismologist with the California Geological Survey.

"Earthquakes are a normal part of living in California, and we should expect to feel them from time to time," she said.
